We’re pretty impressed with our very own MD Chris Lyons who is setting off to Vietnam in January 2020, to embark upon a charity cycle ride for six days.
This is Chris’ fifth charity cycle ride, which has seen him travel to all corners of the globe including Cuba, Morocco, Cambodia and Mexico, all in aid of three charities – Childline, Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy and Teenage Cancer Trust. All three charities help young people get through difficult times in their lives whether that’s navigating a devastating cancer diagnosis, enriching the lives of those with disabilities and life-limiting illnesses with music therapy or providing support for those facing bullying, abuse or mental health issues.
Not alone in his quest, Chris cycles with a group named ‘The Truants’ made up of individuals – some who are at home on two wheels and some who are more at home on two feet – who have the collective goal of raising £666k on this trip alone. The Truants have raised millions for the charities over the years.
Each participant funds themselves and makes their own way to the location (in this case, Vietnam), with everyone arriving on Monday 20th January. The group then cycle around 50 miles a day together and stay at local places each night.
Chris – you certainly don’t do things by halves and we’re all behind you!
